The Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE) Northern Light Chapter in cooperation and several industry partners, will be holding a Safety Quest event for students at Mount Royal Collegiate in Saskatoon on May 10, 2017 as part of North American Occupational Health and Safety (NAOSH) week festivities. The event will involve the participation of nearly 130 Grade 9 students as well as participation from this semester’s Highschool Carpentry Apprenticeship Program (HCAP) students. Run by industry volunteers, the Safety Quest will focus on a safety skills including fall protection, fire extinguisher use, electrical safety, and first aid. Students will work in groups, rotating around six stations during the afternoon with the goal of both teaching, and challenging safety skills that they will implement as they move through the Mount Royal trades program and enter the workforce.
Due to space constraints, we will not be admitting uninvited observers to the event, but look for images on the Chapter website and Facebook page.
